Hi I'm Jessica but most people call me Jess! I am a womanist who advocates for amplified representation, visibility, and culturally relevant wellness solutions for black womxn. I wear many hats: performance + culinary artist, experience curator, scholar, educator, health + fitness coach. I’m deeply passionate about health, wellness, and the unique, interconnected relationship between the mind, body, and soul.

I received my BFA in dance performance from Temple University and my MFA from Rutgers University. I have performed nationally and internationally with Kariamu & Co: Traditions, Laurie Taylor/Soul Movement, and Eyrc Taylor Dance and have taught on faculty at Rutgers University/Mason Gross School of the Arts and Ballet Hispanico.

As a professionally trained dancer, fitness and health have always been a big part of my life but I wanted to dive deeper into my wellness practice. So in 2016, I obtained my Health Coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I have taught private and group fitness classes in New York City, New Jersey, and Washington, DC. Working in top gyms and boutique fitness studios like Equinox, The AKT, Flywheel Sports, and Jane Do to name a few. In 2017, I began merging my creative and wellness practices through the curation of WellBody’s signature event Thrive, Beyond Survival and my MFA thesis, Black Female Identity: An Embodied Practice of Healing, Inquiry, and Magic Making. Through my signature fitness, nutrition, and personal development programs, I teach and empower women to be loud and unapologetic in their existence, and to radically love and care for themselves so they can flourish in all aspects of their lives.
